FAQ

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a continuously varied, intense and functional workout. It incorporates elements from Olympic lifting, powerlifting, kettlebell sport, gymnastics and fitness training.

A CrossFit workout consists of functional movements involving as many muscle groups as possible, such as lifting, throwing, pulling, climbing, running and jumping.

At Ninja's you will train in a group under the guidance of one or more expert coaches. The coaches make sure you perform the exercises correctly, motivate you during the workout and give you advice on what else you can do besides CrossFit to get healthy and fit.

I have no experience with fitness or CrossFit, can I still participate?

Yes! Everyone can participate in CrossFit. During the WOD (Workout of the Day) we will adjust the intensity of the exercises to your level. If an exercise is not appropriate, we will adjust the exercise without changing the pattern.

If you are starting with CrossFit, join the technique class on Wednesday evening at 17:45. During this technique class you will learn the 9 basic movements of CrossFit and get explanations about common exercises and techniques.

Is CrossFit safe?

Yes, CrossFit is safe. Under professional guidance, you first learn the technique of the movements and only when you move safely and effectively, we let you load the movement through speed or weight.

I have a (chronic) injury, can I still participate?

Yes, especially in case of a (chronic) injury we recommend functional exercises to bring the body back to its basics. Always indicate this to the trainer, extra adjustments in load and extra attention to technique may be necessary. When in doubt, we advise you to take personal training first.

Do I always have to register for a training?

Yes, you must register (online, or in the app) for every workout and for the Open Gym. You can register for a training until the training starts. If you cannot make it to the training, you can unsubscribe up to 2 hour before the training starts. This way we still have enough time to send an email to any members on the waiting list.

How long does a training session last?

Maximum 60 minutes unless otherwise indicated.

What can I expect during a CrossFit workout at NINJA'S CrossFit?

Every training session starts with a warm-up: mobilizing, activating and preparing your body for the workout.

Then we move on to a strength or skill session. We work on getting stronger or learning a new movement, such as handstands. Strength training follows a cycle, allowing you to make consistent progress.

Next comes the WOD (Workout of the Day): different every day and a combination of conditioning, strength and skills.

Every workout can be adapted to your level, so everyone trains together while working at their own level.

What should I wear to training?

Sports shoes, shorts and a shirt. Make sure the clothes are comfortable but not `baggy'. In addition, bring a water bottle and possibly a towel for showering after training.

Can I workout on my own?

Yes, we have a large Open Gym with all the equipment you need. Whether you want to train on a weightlifting platform with a barbell, hang from the rack, or do some old-fashioned strength training, you can do it all here

Where can I become a member?
